    Invasive Species Programs

We're Helping Protect Florida's Wild Spaces

The Florida Invasive Species Survey Group is a new citizen science program focused in north Florida. We're recruiting and training volunteer citizen scientists to identify and survey for invasive species, and working with public and private land managers to identify areas in need of monitoring to improve invasive species management.

    Florida Invasive Species Survey Group

    Three Ways to Engage

    1. Join the UF invasive species survey group! Indulge your sense of adventure and come work in natural areas all across north Florida! Prospective volunteers will complete a free online short-course giving you all the skills you need to document and map invasive species, and then join us on planned surveys.
    2. Report on your own as you explore! When you're out in visiting your local parks, exploring wild spaces in your neighborhood, or even walking your dog, you can document the presence of invasive species using the I'veGot1 app! Just make sure you have permission to be on the lands you're exploring!
    3. Join us for BioBlitzes and outreach events! Check out our calendar of events to see when we're joining or hosting events in your area.
